I have noticed improvements in the strength of my ankles and calf muscles. I like to stand on one foot for a couple of minutes in MBT Lami Civiar shoes. Definitely helps with balance and lower leg strength.

MBT best shoe I've ever had! This shoe eliminated my foot pain! I have Frieberg's disease, and bought these as my last resort before surgery. Thanks goodness I tried them. What a miracle. I now bought the MBT Lami too.
